Thanks to all who made the weekend the success it was and of course congratulations to all the winners as well as to all who competed.
WELCOME ALL TO 2010 AND HOPING WE ALL HAVE A GREAT YEAR BOTH OFF AND THE COURSE. WE HAVE ANOTHER VERY INTERESTING YEAR AHEAD OF US THIS YEAR AND ALL BEING WELL THE UNIFICATION WITH THE WOMEN’S DISTRICT WILL BE FINALISED AND WE WILL BE JUST THE ONE GOVERNING BODY. WITH THE CHANGES TO THE HANDICAPPING, NEW COURSE RATING AND SLOPE SYSTEM APPROACHING WE HAVE SOME VERY EXCITING, CHALLENGING AND BUSY TIMES AHEAD.
THANK YOU ALL FOR ATTENDANCE AT THE RULES SEMINARS AT MACKAY AND TOWNSVILLE. THE RESPOSE WAS TREMENDOUS WITH 45 ATTENDING IN MACKAY AND 55 IN TOWNSVILLE. A GREAT EFFORT AND GOLF QUEENSLAND WAS VERY HAPPY WITH THE NUMBERS TO SAY THE LEAST. I AM SURE THAT THOSE WHO ATTENDED LEARNT A LOT ON THE DAY AND NOW HAVE A BETTER UNDERSTANDING ON THE RULES AS WELL AS HOW TO LOOK UP THE RULES BOOK. ONCE AGAIN THANK YOU AND OF COURSE A SPECIAL THANKS TO THOSE WHO CHASED UP THE NUMBERS TO MAKE THEM BOTH SO SUCCESSFUL. WE SHOWED THEM DOWN SOUTH THAT IF THEY ARE PREPARED TO PUT SOMETHING LIKE THAT ON WE CAN GET THE PEOPLE TO ATTEND AND I AM SURE WE WILL BE CONDUCTING MORE IN THE FUTURE.

Could all players please take note of my comments regarding Golflink Numbers and do the right thing. We are 100% behind the Clubs and their workers so players do the right thing. As far as we are concerned you should put you full number on your card each time you play to make it easier for your home club officials as well as getting used to doing it. Very difficult we must say but it becomes a natural thing just like signing card or placing your handicap on it. Cheers and Thanks Platty
